mtsta: A Package for Accessing the Red List of Montane Tree Species of the Tropical Andes
The `mtsta` package provides functions to access the Red List of Montane Tree Species of the Tropical Andes. This package allows users to search for globally threatened tree species within the Andean montane forests, including cloud forests and seasonal (wet) forests above 1500 m a.s.l. It uses the Levenshtein distance to perform approximate matching and allows specifying the maximum distance for matching. The package is part of a project to facilitate the assess the conservation status of the world's montane tree species in the tropical Andes region of Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Venezuela.
