• Open GBIF Darwin Core Archive Integration: Re-architected data ingestion pipeline to use the open Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A) export from GBIF (https://hosted-datasets.gbif.org/datasets/iucn/iucn-latest.zip), DOI: 10.15468/0qnb58.
• Three Core Datasets (rWCVPdata model): Exposed three standardized tibbles matching the DwC-A taxonomy and threat status assessment architecture:
  • iucn_taxon: Complete taxonomy, authority, taxonomic status (accepted or synonym), and references for 200,000+ species.
  • iucn_threatstatus: IUCN Red List conservation category (threatStatus), assessment citations (source), global locality scope, and occurrence status (renamed from iucn_distribution to accurately reflect its content, dropping 100% empty countryCode and establishmentMeans columns).
  • iucn_vernacularname: Vernacular (common) names linked to species, languages, and preferred name status.
• Dynamic Data Functions: Added download_iucn_gbif() and process_iucn_gbif() to allow on-demand local downloading and tidying of GBIF DwC-A archives.
• Semantic Console Messaging: Integrated cli package for formatted error, warning, and progress messaging.
• Historical Data Migration: Moved older CSV dataset downloads (2024-1, 2024-2, 2025-1, 2026-1) to deprecated/.
